For 2 years I collected long term disability insurance from my employer and suddenly was arbitrarily denied coverage. Not only did they abruptly end my benefits, but also, they made the decision retroactive by 2 weeks. Luckily, I filed for Social Security Disability when my short-term disability coverage ended. It took 2 years for the state to schedule a SS hearing. I was using the attorney provided by the insurance company. DO NOT DO THIS! If you have a disability or an ERISA case, hire a PRIVATE attorney. Thankfully, I contacted Marc Snyder, Esquire of RMS Law as soon as I received the denial of coverage letter. If you receive a similar letter of denial it is imperative that you call an attorney and NOT the insurance company. Attorney Kellyanne Parry Inverso represented me at the Social Security Disability hearing and provided pre-hearing support and guidance. Her expertise during the hearing kept me focused and calm which resulted in a positive outcome of two year’s retroactive SSDI. Attorney Marc Snyder represented me in the long-term disability ERISA case against the insurance company. It is intimidating to go against a big insurance company, but I felt that he was aggressive enough and was going to fight for me. During our first appointment Marc demonstrated his vast knowledge in the field of disability claims. I immediately was comfortable with Marc and confident that my appeal would be won. Marc was readily available for questions and quickly followed up with all the paperwork. I am pleased to say that we won the Short Term Disability Appeal. Marc then worked with the Long Term Disability provider and a short time later my Long Term Disability was also approved. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have found this firm. I began working with Daniel Moss when my private LTD insurer decided to decline my claim after several years of being out on disability. Thankfully, I reached out to them and Daniel and his team dud an amazing job on my appeal and we were successful in getting the decision reversed so I was once again receiving payments - this is so important to me and my family! I first contacted Marc when my long-term disability insurance was terminated at the time of the two-year review. I have multiple sclerosis, a progressive disease in which symptoms and functional abilities worsen over time.
